TCF Canada exam centres in India: cities, fees and how to book
In India, TCF Canada is run by Alliance Française centres approved by France Éducation international. There are only a few of them and seats go fast, so knowing where and how to book matters as much as your French.
Where you can take TCF Canada in India
In October 2026, five Alliance Française centres listed TCF Canada sessions:
| City | Fee | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| New Delhi Alliance Française de Delhi | ₹26,000 incl. GST | The busiest centre: about two sessions a month, 22 seats each. Computer-based. Only a valid passport is accepted. |
| Kolkata Alliance Française du Bengale | ₹26,000 incl. GST | Dates on the centre's TCF calendar, booking through its online form. Computer-based. |
| Bengaluru Alliance Française de Bangalore | Ask the centre | Few sessions, and the fee is not published online. |
| Ahmedabad Alliance Française d'Ahmedabad | Ask the centre | Dates are announced on the centre's site. |
| Bhopal Alliance Française de Bhopal | Ask the centre | Registration closes one month before the exam. Results in 4 to 8 weeks. |
Checked on the centres' websites in October 2026. Dates, fees and the list of centres change, so confirm on the centre's site before you pay.
In October 2026 we found no TCF Canada sessions in Mumbai or Chennai. Some Alliance Française centres run TEF Canada instead, which IRCC accepts too: see TEF vs TCF Canada.
How booking works
- Create your account on the centre's site before registration opens. At Delhi, online registration opens at 9:30 am and seats often go within minutes.
- Pay straight away. A seat counts only once the fee is paid. If the session is full, ask to join the waiting list or move to the next date.
- Use the passport you will use for your IRCC application. Delhi accepts only a valid passport, both at registration and on exam day.
- Expect no refund. Centres generally do not refund the fee once you are registered, unless they cancel the session.
- Arrive early. At Delhi you take the written tests and the speaking test on the same day, and a late arrival loses the seat and the fee.
Fees and retakes
₹26,000 including GST is the 2026 fee at Delhi and Kolkata, up from ₹21,476 at Delhi in 2025. You can retake the test, with at least 20 days between sessions at Delhi and Kolkata and 30 days at Bhopal, but every attempt costs the full fee again.
Delhi has also stopped re-marking requests for sessions held from 1 September 2026, so you cannot count on a second look at a borderline writing or speaking score. Aim a point or two above the score you need.
Results
Delhi sends official results by email in about 2 to 4 weeks, and Bhopal says 4 to 8 weeks. Results are digital only and valid for 2 years for IRCC. See the TCF Canada score chart for what each score means in NCLC.
Be ready before you book
With few seats and ₹26,000 per attempt, the cheapest plan is to pass the first time. Writing and speaking are where most candidates fall short of NCLC 7, which needs 10 out of 20. Practise the three writing tasks with a timer and get every text corrected: Task 1, Task 2, Task 3.
Check your writing before you book
Paste your Task 1, 2 or 3 answer and get a score out of 20, your NCLC level and every mistake explained in English, हिंदी or ਪੰਜਾਬੀ. 5 free checks a day, no sign-up.
